Sewing Level 3: Using a Pattern

This class will greatly expand your sewing options, by teaching you to read and understand a sewing pattern. We will also practice skills covered in Sewing Level 1 and Sewing Level 2, while making a basic tote bag with a pocket.

Our goal with these classes is to help you work up to projects such as bag making, quilting, or garment sewing, that maybe have you a little intimidated right now. The best way to grow your skills is to practice, make mistakes, and try again! We design our classes to be low-key and low-stakes, so you can learn with as little stress as possible. Because above all, we think crafting should be fun!

This class is open to students age 14+.

Supplies Needed:

• 1/2 yard of sturdy woven (non-stretch) fabric. Mid-weight denim or canvas are best for this project. Not sure what to buy? Come in and shop before class & get helpful advice from our staff.
• 1 1/4 yards woven strap material (also called "webbing")

• Sewing machine, thread, scrap fabric, and a sewing toolkit for use in class.

Class Policies & COVID procedures:

Properly worn masks are encouraged but not required while inside Craft Habit. We do have masks available should you wish to wear one while spending time with us!

This class requires a minimum of 4 students enrolled, with a maximum of 6. Craft Habit will notify students at least 24 hours in advance if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Students will be fully refunded for any classes cancelled due to low enrollment.

Food and most beverages are not allowed during classes, due to safety concerns. You are welcome to bring water in a container that will not spill if knocked over. 

Class registrations are not refundable. If you cannot attend, you may find another person to take your place in a class. Please let us know their name in advance of the class starting.

Classes cancelled by Craft Habit WILL be refunded. We will do our best to reschedule classes, and we will refund class registration fees for any classes that we have to cancel for any reason.

To respect our teachers’ time, please arrive 5 minutes before scheduled class time unless advised otherwise. Late arrivals may miss important information and may not be able to catch up to the class. We cannot issue refunds for late arrivals. Please shop for your class materials in advance!
