Spooky Skull Stack DIY Earring Kit

Celebrate the spooky season by whipping up a pair of skull stack earrings -- no tools required!!

Each kit includes enough components to make one pair of earrings:

  • 6 carved howlite skull beads in 3 different sizes
  • 2 raw brass oval hoops
  • 1 pair antique brass fishhook ear wires
  • 4 small antique brass jump rings (2 more than necessary, in case one escapes!)
  • 1 yard of black waxed linen cord
Instructions:
  1. Cut your linen cord into two even lengths
  2. Fold one length of linen cord in half to find the center. String one jump ring and one brass oval hoop onto the center of the cord, and tie an overhand knot to secure. Keep it a little loose so there is movement!
  3. String your skull beads onto both hanging ends of the linen cord, knotting between each skull and once at the bottom.
  4. Once the skulls are on, you should have a bit of extra cord left. Snip the ends off a couple inches below your last knot, and use the hanging tails from the last skull to tie the loose ends together into a fringe. Trim the fringe ends.
  5. Gently bend the loop on the bottom of the ear wire to one side to open it, so you can slide the jump ring on. Gently close the ear wire loop again.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for the second earring, and spook your friends with your stacks of skulls!
