Metalsmithing Level 1 - Stacked Sterling Silver Rings

Learn introductory metalsmithing skills with local artist Ndidi Kowalczyk. Ndidi will teach you how to solder, shape, and texture sterling silver wire. You'll leave with a set of up to three stackable rings, custom sized to fit you! By the end of class you will be proficient at soldering single seams and fabricating simple bands. This class uses open flames, sharp implements and metal tools. Some hand strength is required. If you need visual assistance (i.e. reading glasses) please bring them. Please wear close-fitting clothing, closed toed shoes, and tie back any long hair. This class packs a LOT into the time provided with another class scheduled right behind it. Please arrive on time and be ready to jump right in! 

This class is open to ages 14+.

Supplies Provided:

• All tools
• Solder (if extra is needed, student may purchase during class)
• Sterling discs (if extra are needed, student may purchase during class)
• Precut sterling silver wire in both 18g and 16g.

Class Policies & COVID procedures:

Properly worn masks are encouraged but not required while inside Craft Habit. We do have masks available should you wish to wear one while spending time with us!

This class requires a minimum of 6 students enrolled, with a maximum of 8. Craft Habit will notify students at least 24 hours in advance if a class is cancelled due to low enrollment. Students will be fully refunded for any classes cancelled due to low enrollment.

Food and most beverages are not allowed during classes, due to safety concerns. You are welcome to bring water in a container that will not spill if knocked over. 

Class registrations are not refundable. If you cannot attend, you may find another person to take your place in a class. Please let us know their name in advance of the class starting.

Classes cancelled by Craft Habit WILL be refunded. We will do our best to reschedule classes, and we will refund class registration fees for any classes that we have to cancel for any reason.

To respect our teachers’ time, please arrive 5 minutes before scheduled class time unless advised otherwise. Late arrivals may miss important information and may not be able to catch up to the class. We cannot issue refunds for late arrivals. Please shop for your class materials in advance!
