Sewing Level 2: Construction Introduction - Drawstring Bag

In this follow-up class to Sewing Level 1, students will learn to follow step-by-step instructions to create a drawstring bag. Learn why we sew everything inside out & backwards, how to tell the right side & wrong side of fabrics, and how to sew a drawstring casing. Even if you haven't touched a sewing machine since your Sewing Level 1 class, this session is for you! 

Our goal with these classes is to help you work up to projects such as bag making, quilting, or garment sewing, that maybe have you a little intimidated right now. The best way to grow your skills is to practice, make mistakes, and try again! We design our classes to be low-key and low-stakes, so you can learn with as little stress as possible. Because above all, we think crafting should be fun!

This class is open to students age 14+.

Supplies Provided:

• Sewing machine, thread, scrap fabric, and a sewing toolkit for use in class.

• Students need to bring one fat quarter to class. We do have some in store available just be sure to arrive early to purchase!

Class Policies & COVID procedures:

• Masks are no longer required but always welcome! We are happy to provide a mask if needed. If you are feeling ill, please stay home and text the store to let them know. 

• This class requires a minimum of 6 students enrolled, with a maximum of 6. Craft Habit will notify students at least 24 hours in advance if a class is canceled due to low enrollment. Students will be fully refunded for any classes canceled due to low enrollment.

• Food and most beverages are not allowed during classes, due to safety concerns. You are welcome to bring water in a container that will not spill if knocked over. On occasion, BYOB is welcome and will be stated in the class registration page.

• Class registrations are not refundable. If you cannot attend, you may find another person to take your place in a class. Please let us know their name in advance of the class starting.

• Classes canceled by Craft Habit WILL be refunded. We will do our best to reschedule classes, and we will refund class registration fees for any classes that we have to cancel for any reason.

• To respect our teachers’ time, please arrive 5 minutes before scheduled class time unless advised otherwise. Late arrivals may miss important information and may not be able to catch up to the class. We cannot issue refunds for late arrivals. Please shop for your class materials in advance!

• Photography: We love to get pics and videos of our instructors and students in class and especially love to capture your projects when finished so that we can brag about you on our social media accounts! If you do not want to be filmed, just tell the staffer who pops in to take pics. We understand!
