Japanese Stab Binding

Fabric choices for Japanese Stab Binding class Japanese Stab Binding is a historical form of side stitch binding. In these methods, the bindings are secured through the front and back covers rather than along the spine. In this class you’ll learn about the materials used, cover your book boards with linen cotton canva,s and bind your own mini 5x8 inch journal.

Supplies Provided:

All your materials are provided for this class, including fabric, book board, thread, and needle. Upon checkout, please provide the number of the fabric (see above) that you wish to have for your book or email your fabric choice to crafthabitclasses@gmail.com!

Class Policies & COVID procedures:

Masks are no longer required but always welcome! We are happy to provide a mask if needed. If you are feeling ill, please stay home and text the store to let them know.
This class requires a minimum of 4 students enrolled, with a maximum of 6. Craft Habit will notify students at least 24 hours in advance if a class is canceled due to low enrollment. Students will be fully refunded for any classes canceled due to low enrollment.
Food and most beverages are not allowed during classes, due to safety concerns. You are welcome to bring water in a container that will not spill if knocked over. On occasion, BYOB is welcome and will be stated in the class registration page.
Class registrations are not refundable. If you cannot attend, you may find another person to take your place in a class. Please let us know their name in advance of the class starting.
Classes canceled by Craft Habit WILL be refunded. We will do our best to reschedule classes, and we will refund class registration fees for any classes that we have to cancel for any reason.
To respect our teachers’ time, please arrive 5 minutes before scheduled class time unless advised otherwise. Late arrivals may miss important information and may not be able to catch up to the class. We cannot issue refunds for late arrivals. Please shop for your class materials in advance!
Photography: We love to get pics and videos of our instructors and students in class and especially love to capture your projects when finished so that we can brag about you on our social media accounts! If you do not want to be filmed, just tell the staffer who pops in to take pics. We understand!

Instructor Bio:	Made with Magick, which is owned and operated by local artist Molly Coleman, believes that there is power in the words we write. We spend so much of our time with our own thoughts. Molly strives to create a beautiful place to hold those thoughts, fears, musings, and dreams in the hand sewn journals that she binds herself in her home studio in Apex NC. She has a background in book arts, paper making and printmaking from SCAD. Molly has called the Raleigh area home for the past 8 years and just recently celebrated her one year anniversary of Made with Magick. She hopes that others will get excited about learning the traditional bookbinding techniques that she loves dearly
