Learn-to-Sew Club (for adults!)

Modeled after our popular youth After School Sewing Club, the Learn-to-Sew Club (for Adults!) is designed to help you gain skills and confidence by practicing on low-stakes projects. No judgements, no perfect samples to emulate, just a chance to log time on a sewing machine, to get guidance from instructors, and to learn by making mistakes.

Our goal with these classes is to help you work up to projects such as bag making, quilting, or garment sewing, that maybe have you a little intimidated right now.

Each 90 minute class will feature a quick & basic project, using fabric from our scrap bins (economical & enviro friendly!). Sewing machines, thread, and all project supplies are included in the class fee.

Skills taught may include:

  • Seam practice!
  • Construction introduction!
  • Stretchy fabric experimentation!
  • Buttons & buttonholes!
  • Patterns! Both fabric & reading!
  • etc.
Enroll in just one session to try it out, or register for multiple sessions and use the code SEWCLUB to get a 15% discount on class fees.
Each session is open to complete beginners, as well as students with some sewing machine experience.

Projects will vary each session, depending on the instructor, available materials, and enrollment.

This class is open to students age 14+

Supplies Provided:

  • Sewing machine, thread, toolkit for use in class.
