Classes Manager at Craft Habit

Hours: 20 hours weekly, mixture of on-site and WFH. Onsite hours required Fridays and at least  one day of the weekend each week.

Rate: $17 per hour

Classes are an important part of our customer experience at Craft Habit, and we are looking for an organized, meticulous, communicative, and creative person to take on the role of Classes Manager.

This position involves ongoing communication with instructors, students, our Purchasing Manager, and our Media and Marketing Manager.

Day-to-day tasks include monitoring enrollment, assessing the need to add or cancel classes, processing customer refunds and class transfers, and responding to customer questions about our class offerings.

Weekly tasks include reviewing the content of class supply kits, replacing and replenishing supplies needed for classes, communicating with the Purchasing Manager regarding needed supplies, updating retail staff on upcoming classes, checking tools, supplies, and equipment in each classroom, and ensuring classrooms are clean, tidy, and ready for students.

Frequent tasks include communicating with instructors to schedule or cancel classes, reviewing proposals for new classes, working with the Purchasing Manager to price new classes, listing classes on our booking platform, and reaching out to potential new instructors.

This position requires someone who is comfortable with frequent communication, who can build and maintain systems, and is patient with managing creative people.

This job requires 20 hours per week, in a mixture of on-site and work-from-home time. The on-site hours are somewhat flexible, but at least one weekend day per week is required, and on some weeks both Saturday & Sunday shifts will be needed, depending on the classes scheduled. The Classes Manager should plan to be onsite on Fridays each week to make sure the classrooms are clean and prepped for weekend classes.

We have recently expanded our class capacity, and part of the Classes Manager job will be to elevate our current system for managing classes to meet the needs of our recent growth. The best candidate for this role is someone who loves to organize, can work collaboratively, and is confident to work independently with a given goal and parameters. In regular speak - we’ll be here to provide resources and advice, but this will be your project to create and maintain.
